The Enforcement Directorate carried out searches in Mumbai and Gujarat today as part of a drug‑trafficking investigation, targeting several premises linked to the case.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) launched coordinated searches in Mumbai and the state of Gujarat on Monday, focusing on premises suspected of being involved in a drug‑trafficking network. Officials arrived at the locations in the early hours, securing the sites and collecting documents, electronic devices and other material that could aid the investigation.

According to a statement released by the ED, the raids are part of a broader probe into the supply chain of narcotics that is believed to operate across multiple states. The agency said it is looking for evidence of money laundering, financial transactions and links to organised crime syndicates.

No arrests were announced at the time of the searches, and the ED has not disclosed the exact number of properties or the identities of the individuals under scrutiny. The department has urged the public to cooperate with any further inquiries and reiterated its commitment to curbing illicit drug trade in the country.

The operation underscores the central government's intensified focus on narcotics control, following a series of high‑profile seizures and arrests in recent months. The ED has indicated that further actions may follow as the investigation progresses.
