The Enforcement Directorate searched the locked residence of former Karnataka Public Service Commission examination controller Gyanendra Kumar Gangwar on Sunday, probing alleged recruitment irregularities.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) carried out a search operation on Sunday at the locked house of Gyanendra Kumar Gangwar, who previously served as the examination controller of the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC). The raid is part of a broader investigation into alleged irregularities in the recruitment process overseen by KPSC officials.

Authorities allege that Gangwar may have been involved in manipulating recruitment procedures, potentially facilitating financial misconduct. The ED arrived at the property, which was reported to be locked, and conducted a thorough sweep, seizing documents, computers and other electronic devices that could shed light on the alleged wrongdoing.

No arrests were announced at the time of the raid. Officials said that the investigation is ongoing and that further action will depend on the evidence gathered during the search.

The move underscores the central government's heightened focus on curbing corruption in state recruitment bodies, with the ED taking a proactive stance against any misuse of authority in public service appointments.
