The Enforcement Directorate detained the nephew of a former Chhattisgarh chief minister’s personal assistant over alleged involvement in a Rs 3 crore fraud linked to the state’s public service commission.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday took into custody the nephew of a former Chhattisgarh chief minister’s personal assistant. The suspect is accused of participating in a fraud that siphoned approximately Rs 3 crore from the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) recruitment process.
According to the agency, the money was allegedly funneled through falsified documents and illegal payments to manipulate the selection of candidates for state civil‑service posts. The scam reportedly involved bribery of officials and the creation of spurious merit lists, compromising the integrity of the CGPSC examinations.
The ED confirmed that the arrest was made after gathering material evidence linking the individual to the financial irregularities. He will be produced before the court within the statutory time frame, and the agency said further arrests could follow as the probe expands.
Authorities from the former chief minister’s office declined to comment, and no official statement was released by the political party associated with the ex‑CM.
