ED Arrests Former Sironj Panchayat CEO Over ₹30.18 Crore Marriage Assistance Scam

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday arrested Shobhit Tripathi, the former CEO of Sironj Panchayat, in connection with a ₹30.18 crore fraud alleged to have occurred under the Madhya Pradesh marriage assistance scheme. Tripathi, who had been suspended from his post, is accused of siphoning off funds intended for dowry support. The ED said the investigation uncovered irregularities in the disbursement of the scheme’s funds. Authorities are probing how the money was diverted and who benefited from the alleged embezzlement. Tripathi has been remanded to police custody pending further inquiry.
