The Election Commission of India will send notices to about a third of Delhi's registered voters after finding irregularities in the electoral roll.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced that it will dispatch formal notices to roughly 34% of the registered voters in Delhi after detecting irregularities in the city’s electoral roll.
The anomalies, uncovered during a routine audit, include duplicate entries and missing address details that could compromise the accuracy of the upcoming polls.
Affected voters will be asked to verify their personal information and submit any required supporting documents, after which the commission will update the roll accordingly.
ECI officials emphasized that the verification exercise is a standard procedure aimed at maintaining a clean and reliable voter list for the forthcoming elections in the national capital.
