The Election Commission of India has dispatched a team to assess the preparedness for the 2027 state assembly polls.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) announced that a dedicated monitoring team is currently reviewing the groundwork laid for the upcoming Vidhan Sabha elections scheduled for 2027.
The team is traveling across several states, meeting election officials and examining key aspects such as voter registration, polling‑station set‑up and security protocols to ensure compliance with the commission’s standards.
Officials said the review will help identify gaps early and allow corrective measures before the election schedule is finalised later this year.
The commission stressed that transparent and well‑organized elections are essential for democratic stability, and the findings will be incorporated into the final election plan.
