Dummy Candidate Used in Rajasthan PTI Physical Teacher Exam Leads to Arrest, SOG Says

The Special Operations Group (SOG) has arrested another suspect in a scheme where a dummy candidate was placed in the Rajasthan Employee Selection Board’s physical teacher recruitment test in Jaipur on Dec 25, 2022, resulting in an illegal government appointment.
On December 25, 2022, the Rajasthan Employee Selection Board (RESB) conducted a physical education teacher recruitment exam in Jaipur. Investigations later revealed that a dummy applicant was entered in place of a genuine candidate, enabling the fraudster to secure a government posting.
The Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Rajasthan police, acting on intelligence, apprehended an additional accused linked to the scheme. The arrested individual is alleged to have coordinated the placement of the dummy candidate and facilitated the issuance of the appointment letter.
Authorities said the operation uncovered a broader network that manipulates competitive exams for personal gain. The SOG has warned that further arrests are possible as the probe expands, and the case will be forwarded to the judiciary for prosecution under anti-corruption and recruitment fraud statutes.
The incident underscores persistent challenges in safeguarding the integrity of public service examinations in the state, prompting calls for stricter verification mechanisms and tighter oversight of the RESB’s recruitment processes.
