The accused have been identified as the bus driver and the conductor, both originating from a village in Kanpur district. Police reports state that the two were on duty at the time of the crime.
The owner of the bus company issued a statement confirming the identities of the driver and conductor and expressed cooperation with the investigation. Delhi police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and are pursuing further forensic and witness evidence.
