Draft Special Incremental Roll Released for Nagaland Voters

The Election Commission of India has made public the draft Special Incremental Roll (SIR) for the state of Nagaland. The draft list, which updates the electoral register for tribal communities, is now available on the commission’s website and at designated offices across the state.
Stakeholders, including political parties and civil society groups, have been asked to examine the document for any discrepancies or omissions. A formal window of fifteen days has been announced for filing objections or suggestions, after which the final roll will be certified.
Election officials say the SIR exercise is part of the routine electoral update mandated by law, aimed at ensuring that eligible voters are accurately reflected in the upcoming state assembly elections. Voters can verify their names by entering their details on the online portal or by visiting the nearest Electoral Registration Office.
The commission has urged citizens to participate actively in the verification process, emphasizing that accurate voter lists are essential for a free and fair election.
Once the objections period closes, the finalized roll will be published and used for the next electoral cycle in Nagaland.
