The popular hill‑top meadow of Doodhpathri in Jammu and Kashmir has reopened to visitors after being shut down due to adverse weather conditions.

Doodhpathri, a high‑altitude meadow located about 45 kilometres from Srinagar in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, has been declared open for tourists after a temporary closure caused by severe weather. The area, renowned for its lush pastures and panoramic views of the Pir Panjal range, attracts weekend travelers from across the region.

The shutdown was prompted by heavy snowfall and intermittent landslides that made the access road unsafe. Local authorities had suspended entry until the terrain could be cleared and safety checks completed.

Officials from the tourism department announced that the routes have now been cleared and basic facilities restored, urging visitors to adhere to safety guidelines and avoid venturing into restricted zones.

The reopening is expected to provide a boost to the local economy, as small businesses and homestays in nearby villages depend heavily on the seasonal influx of tourists.

Travelers are advised to check weather updates before planning a trip and to use authorized transport services to reach the meadow.
