DMRC Shuts 16 Metro Stations Amid CJP Protest at Jantar Mantar

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has temporarily closed 16 metro stations after protests by the CJP at Jantar Mantar, tightening security across the network.

The decision was taken to prevent any potential clashes and to ensure the safety of commuters and protestors alike. Security forces were deployed at key entry points of the affected stations, and additional police presence was established around the historic monument.
The closed stations include stations on the Red Line and the Blue Line, which are among the busiest corridors in the city. Commuters are advised to use alternate routes or the Delhi Metro's feeder bus services. DMRC officials stated that the closures would remain in effect until the situation at Jantar Mantar stabilises.
The CJP protest, which began earlier this week, has drawn attention to the organisation’s demands for political reforms. While the protest has not escalated into violence, authorities remain vigilant.
