Divya Dutta: After a Hit, Filmmakers Keep Offering Similar Roles, Says Actress

In a recent interview with The Times of India, actress Divya Dutta discussed the pattern she observes in the film industry after a movie’s success. She noted that once a film performs well, filmmakers often approach her with roles that mirror the character she portrayed in that hit.

Dutta explained that this tendency makes it challenging to find diverse opportunities. "I’ve seen a lot of offers that are essentially variations of the same type of role," she said. "It’s exciting to be in demand, but it also limits the range of characters I can explore."

Because of this trend, the actress has become more selective about the projects she chooses. She emphasized the importance of aligning a role with her artistic goals and the message she wants to convey to audiences.

Looking ahead, Dutta expressed hope that the industry will offer more varied roles for actors, allowing them to showcase their versatility rather than being pigeonholed into a single character type.
