The director of ‘Phool Bane Angaray’ recalled that actress Rekha fell off a horse while shooting an action sequence opposite Prem Chopra.
Mumbai – The filmmaker behind the classic Bollywood title ‘Phool Bane Angaray’ has spoken about a mishap that occurred on set, saying that veteran actress Rekha lost her balance and fell from a horse during an action sequence with co‑star Prem Chopda. The incident happened while the duo were performing a choreographed stunt that involved riding at speed, a common practice in the high‑octane films of that era.
According to the director, the fall was sudden but did not halt production for long. Crew members quickly attended to Rekha, and she was able to continue shooting after receiving basic medical attention. No serious injuries were reported, and the scene was eventually completed without further incident.
The recollection highlights the physical demands placed on actors in the 1980s Bollywood action genre, where many performers performed their own stunts. It also serves as a reminder of the behind‑the‑scenes challenges that often go unnoticed by audiences.
