Filmmaker Atlee is reportedly negotiating with veteran actor Aamir Khan to helm a new mass‑appeal movie, after earlier talks about a ₹100 crore director fee for the stalled project ‘Raaka’.
The South Indian director Atlee, known for high‑budget blockbusters, is said to be in preliminary discussions with Bollywood star Aamir Khan about a new mass‑entertainer film. The report, cited by entertainment portal Sacnilk, indicates that both parties are exploring a project that could blend Atlee's visual style with Khan's pan‑Indian appeal.
The talks follow recent speculation surrounding Atlee's unfinished venture ‘Raaka’, for which a director's fee of ₹100 crore was reportedly being negotiated. Although ‘Raaka’ has not moved forward, the financial figure has drawn attention to the scale of budgets Atlee commands.
Industry analysts note that a collaboration between Atlee and Aamir Khan would be a rare convergence of two of Indian cinema's biggest box‑office draws, potentially targeting a nationwide release in multiple languages. No official confirmation or timeline has been provided yet, and the project remains in the early negotiation phase.
If the partnership materialises, it could set a new benchmark for star‑driven, high‑budget productions in the Indian market, prompting other filmmakers to pursue similar cross‑regional collaborations.
