Digital Bharat Nidhi has signed a pact with the Jharkhand government to implement the Amended BharatNet program, aiming to expand broadband connectivity across the state.
The Digital Bharat Nidhi, a private firm specializing in digital infrastructure, has entered into a formal agreement with the Jharkhand state government to roll out the Amended BharatNet program across the state.
Under the pact, Digital Bharat Nidhi will provide the necessary technology, equipment and expertise to deploy high‑speed broadband links to villages, schools and health centres, while the state will facilitate land acquisition and regulatory approvals.
The partnership is expected to connect over 1.5 million households and enhance digital services such as e‑education, e‑health and e‑commerce, aligning with the national Digital India agenda.
Work is slated to begin in the coming months, with a phased implementation plan that prioritises remote districts. Officials said the collaboration will create new jobs and spur local economic growth.
