A Tantrik in Dhar district, Madhya Pradesh, was arrested after allegedly exploiting a 12th‑grade student under the guise of treatment and stealing her belongings.
Police in Dhar district arrested a Tantrik on Tuesday after a 12th‑grade student reported that he had used the pretext of medical treatment to sexually assault her and steal her belongings.
The accused, who had been operating a small healing center in the area, allegedly forced the student into a private room and carried out the assault.
When the victim later gave birth, the Tantrik reportedly tried to kill the newborn, an act that was intercepted by the mother.
Authorities have filed a criminal complaint under sections 376 and 304B of the Indian Penal Code and are investigating the case.
