Devotees Vow to Block Relocation of Standing Hanuman Idol in Ujjain

In Madhya Pradesh's Ujjain, local devotees declared they will not allow the removal of a standing Hanuman statue, insisting that the deity will stay where it is placed. Their pledge came amid reports of plans to shift the idol for unspecified reasons.
Devotees gathered near the idol and shouted the slogan ‘एक जान है, चाहे कोई ले ले’, meaning they would protect the deity at any cost. They emphasized that the statue, which depicts Hanuman in a standing posture, must remain at its current site.
Referencing religious symbolism, the protesters recalled how the Sarayu river turned red in Ayodhya and warned that even if the Shipra river in Ujjain were to turn red, they would not allow the idol to be moved. This metaphor underscored their determination to keep the deity in place.
Community leaders stated that the idol has been a focal point of worship for years and any attempt to relocate it would hurt religious sentiments. They urged authorities to reconsider any plans for shifting the statue.
As of now, no official statement from the municipal or religious administration has been reported regarding the proposed relocation or the devotees’ protest.
