Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara has warned that more than 200 taluks in Karnataka could be declared drought-hit as water levels continue to fall.
In a statement reported by Mid‑Day, Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara cautioned that over 200 taluks across Karnataka may soon be declared drought‑hit as water reserves dwindle.
The warning comes amid a prolonged period of below‑average rainfall that has left many districts struggling to meet agricultural and domestic water needs.
