Centuries from Denish and Sibsankar propelled Assam to a first‑innings total of 373 runs against Punjab on Day 2 of the 2026‑27 Ranji Trophy.
Assam’s batting line‑up surged to 373 runs on the second day of the 2026‑27 Ranji Trophy after opening batsmen Denish and Sibsankar each reached three‑figure scores. Their centuries anchored a solid partnership that steadied the innings after early wickets.
The duo’s contributions accounted for a substantial portion of the total, with Denish scoring 112 and Sibsankar adding 101 before being dismissed. The rest of the side chipped in with useful runs, ensuring a competitive first‑innings lead.
Punjab, slated to bat next, will need to respond strongly to avoid falling behind in the four‑day encounter. The match continues at the Assam Cricket Association Stadium, where both teams are eyeing a decisive result.
The performance underscores Assam’s growing depth in the domestic circuit, while Punjab will look to regroup and chase the target in the remaining sessions.
