From 8 AM today, traffic will be rerouted around Connaught Place and Parliament Street as authorities implement road diversions in central Delhi.
Delhi’s traffic police announced that, starting at 8 AM, all vehicles will be diverted around Connaught Place (CP) and Parliament Street to facilitate ongoing road works. The diversion covers the inner ring road, Janpath, and the stretch linking CP to the Parliament House, with signage to guide motorists.
Commuters are advised to avoid the usual routes through CP and Parliament Street, as lane closures will reduce capacity and cause delays of up to 15‑20 minutes during peak hours. Public transport operators have been instructed to adjust bus timings on affected corridors.
Motorists can use alternative corridors such as Rajpath, Ashok Road, and the outer ring road to reach central business districts. For real‑time updates, drivers are encouraged to follow the Delhi Traffic Police’s official Twitter handle and the Delhi Traffic app.
