The Delhi government has introduced a new Standard Operating Procedure that allows cinema hall owners to obtain their licence with a single online click.

The Delhi administration has issued a fresh Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) aimed at simplifying the licensing process for cinema halls. Under the new guidelines, operators can complete the entire application online by clicking a single button, eliminating the need for multiple physical visits to government offices.

The online portal integrates the requisite forms, fee payment and document verification into a unified interface, promising faster turnaround times. Officials say the move is intended to reduce bureaucratic delays and make compliance easier for existing and prospective cinema hall owners.

The SOP is expected to benefit the city’s entertainment sector by encouraging new entrants and streamlining operations for existing venues. The government has urged stakeholders to familiarize themselves with the digital procedure and complete pending applications through the new system.

Implementation begins immediately, with the online platform already live for public use. Further guidance and FAQs have been posted on the official Delhi government website to assist applicants.
