Delhi Roads Stuck in Congestion Ahead of Diwali

Delhi traffic authorities have warned of severe congestion on the city’s main arteries as residents prepare for the Diwali festivities. The jam is particularly noticeable on the Ring Road, NH 1, and the Delhi‑Gurgaon Expressway, where vehicles are moving at a crawl. Authorities have urged commuters to use alternate routes and public transport to ease the pressure. The traffic police have increased patrols and deployed additional traffic wardens to manage the flow. The situation is expected to improve as the holiday season progresses and people settle into their celebrations.
