The Delhi administration has renovated 1,200 rainwater harvesting systems city‑wide to improve groundwater levels, reports India Today.
Delhi’s municipal authorities have completed the renovation of 1,200 rainwater harvesting installations across the capital, aiming to boost the city’s groundwater recharge, India Today reported. The upgraded systems are expected to capture and channel a larger share of monsoon runoff into underground aquifers. Officials say the initiative forms part of a broader effort to address chronic water scarcity and declining water tables in the National Capital Region. By improving the efficiency of existing harvesting structures, the city hopes to secure a more reliable water supply for residents in the coming years.
