Delhi Police have announced that from 9 p.m. tonight until tomorrow, entry and exit points at 57 metro stations will be closed as a response to ongoing protests.

Delhi Police issued a notice late yesterday stating that the entry and exit gates of 57 Delhi Metro stations will be sealed from 9 p.m. tonight until the following day. The decision comes as a direct response to a large‑scale protest that began earlier this week and has disrupted normal city traffic.

The police letter, circulated to the Metro Rail Corporation, lists the stations slated for closure but does not disclose the complete roster publicly. Commuters are advised to use alternative routes, including nearby stations that remain operational, and to expect longer travel times.

Metro officials have confirmed that security personnel will be deployed at the affected stations to manage crowds and guide passengers to the nearest open gates. The temporary measure is expected to be lifted once the protest subsides and law‑and‑order conditions are restored.
