Three officers were injured when a group assaulted them with bricks, sticks and chilli powder after police seized an undocumented motorcycle in Mukundpur; a 17‑year‑old was detained.
During a routine patrol in Mukundpur, South Delhi, three Delhi Police officers were confronted by a group of youths. The confrontation escalated when the officers seized a motorcycle that lacked proper registration documents.
The youths responded by hurling bricks, striking with sticks and spraying chilli powder, injuring all three constables. Medical assistance was provided at the scene and the officers were later taken for treatment.
Police managed to detain a 17‑year‑old juvenile involved in the assault, while several others fled the area. The main suspect, identified as Sunil alias Pankaj, remains at large and a manhunt has been launched.
Authorities have lodged a formal FIR and are reviewing CCTV footage to identify and apprehend the remaining perpetrators, emphasizing zero tolerance for attacks on law‑enforcement personnel.
