A 32‑year‑old Delhi Police head constable, Amarjeet, was killed when a bullet struck him during a celebratory firing at a Jalva Pujan ceremony held in Sidhwan Khas village, Hisar.
Amarjeet was attending the ceremony with his wife, Rinku. She reported that the firing was being carried out by Surender and Manoj, and that a stray bullet hit Amarjeet.
He was taken to a local hospital for initial treatment, but the injuries were severe. He was subsequently transferred to a hospital in Hisar, where he succumbed to his wounds.
Police have launched an inquiry into the incident and are investigating the conduct of the individuals who were firing at the event.
