The second side of the 59‑km DND‑KMP stretch of the Delhi‑Mumbai Expressway was officially opened on Tuesday, marking a milestone in the long‑awaited expansion of the corridor.
The ceremony was attended by officials from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, who highlighted the project’s role in reducing travel time between Delhi and Mumbai.
With the new side operational, traffic congestion on the single‑lane stretch is expected to ease significantly, improving safety and boosting economic activity along the route.
The DND‑KMP segment is part of the 1,140‑km expressway that connects the national capital with the commercial hub of Mumbai, and its completion is a key step toward achieving the project’s 2025 deadline.
