Delhi MCD to launch animal ambulance and RFID tagging for stray dogs

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has unveiled a new initiative aimed at enhancing the care of stray animals in the capital. Under the plan, a specialised animal ambulance will be deployed to provide immediate medical assistance to injured or ill stray dogs and other animals. In parallel, the corporation intends to introduce radio‑frequency identification (RFID) tags for stray dogs, enabling authorities to track and manage the canine population more effectively. Officials said the measures are part of a broader effort to address animal welfare concerns while also improving public health and safety.
