Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor announced that future planning will now encompass the National Capital Region, stressing the need for coordination among agencies.
Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor (LG) announced that the city’s planning framework will now extend beyond its administrative boundaries to include the entire National Capital Region (NCR). The move aims to address persistent challenges in housing, transportation, drainage, and environmental management that cannot be resolved within Delhi alone.
The LG underscored the importance of enhanced coordination among key agencies such as the Delhi Development Authority, Delhi Transport Corporation, and other municipal bodies. He said that a unified approach is essential for effective implementation of integrated development plans across the region.
By incorporating the NCR into its planning ambit, Delhi seeks to streamline policy execution and ensure that infrastructure and service delivery keep pace with the growing demands of the capital’s metropolitan area.
