The Delhi High Court declined a petition seeking to halt the CJP‑organized Tricolour march, directing police to ensure law and order during the event.
The Delhi High Court today refused to grant an interim injunction that would have stopped the CJP‑led Tricolour march scheduled in the capital. The petition, filed by a group of citizens concerned about public safety, asked the court to prohibit the procession on the grounds that it could spark communal tension.
In its order, the bench observed that the right to peaceful assembly is a constitutional guarantee and that any restriction must be based on clear, imminent threats. It noted that the authorities have already been instructed to monitor the march closely and to take preventive measures if needed.
The court directed the Delhi police to deploy adequate personnel, maintain traffic management, and be prepared to intervene should any law‑and‑order situation arise. Officials are expected to issue public advisories and coordinate with local administration to ensure the event proceeds without incident.
