Delhi: Dangling Wires and Leaning Poles Pose Electrocution Risk

Residents in East Delhi face constant danger from poorly maintained electricity and cable wires, with several lives lost previously due to electrocution.

Areas across East Delhi, including Vivek Vihar, Shakarpur, Preet Vihar, Krishna Nagar, Laxmi Nagar, Mandawali, and New Ashok Nagar, are grappling with a serious safety concern. Investigations revealed that electricity and cable wires are frequently found hanging low and in a disorganized state across these localities.

This hazardous situation, characterized by dangling wires and leaning poles, has instilled a pervasive fear of accidents, particularly electrocution, among the residents. The problem has been a recurring issue, with past incidents indicating the grave danger posed by the poorly managed infrastructure.

The sub-standard condition of these essential services highlights a critical public safety issue that requires immediate attention from the authorities to prevent further tragedies.
