Delhi's chief minister, Rekha Gupta, charged Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal with attempting to turn the national capital into a partisan battleground.
During a press interaction, Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta said that senior opposition figures Rahul Gandhi of the Congress and Arvind Kejriwal of the Aam Aadmi Party are seeking to convert the national capital into a political war zone. She asserted that such attempts undermine the city's role as a neutral administrative centre and distract from governance priorities.
Gupta emphasized that Delhi's administration will not tolerate any effort to politicise civic issues or public services. She called for a focus on development, health and education rather than partisan confrontations that she claims are being orchestrated by the two leaders.
The remarks come amid a broader atmosphere of political rivalry in the capital, where both parties are gearing up for upcoming electoral contests. No immediate response from the accused leaders was recorded at the time of reporting.
