The Election Commission has allowed voters omitted from the draft SIR rolls in Delhi and six other states to submit updated details, ensuring their inclusion in the upcoming elections.
The Election Commission of India has announced a second opportunity for voters who were left out of the draft SIR rolls in Delhi and six other states.
Under the new directive, affected voters can now submit corrected or missing information to have their names added to the official voter lists.
The Commission has set a deadline of 30 September for all submissions, after which the updated rolls will be finalized for the next general elections.
Officials say the move aims to reduce disenfranchisement and ensure that every eligible citizen can exercise their right to vote.
The affected states include Delhi, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Rajasthan.
