The Defence Acquisition Council, chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, cleared a ₹1.1 lakh‑crore package aimed at expanding missile and radar capabilities while promoting self‑reliant defence production.
New Delhi: The Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) gave the green light to a ₹1.1 lakh‑crore defence augmentation plan, covering a wide range of systems from advanced missiles to state‑of‑the‑art radars. The proposal, presented by the Ministry of Defence, underscores the government's push for greater self‑reliance (Atmanirbhar Bharat) in defence manufacturing, encouraging domestic firms to take on larger roles in production and technology development.
