Hunters in Bisanriya village, Dhanaau police area of Barmer, shot a deer, tied its legs and hung it upside‑down from a tree, prompting wildlife activists to stage an all‑night protest.

In the early hours of Tuesday, a group of hunters entered Bisanriya, a village in the Dhanaau police jurisdiction of Barmer district, Rajasthan. They shot a wild deer, bound its four legs with rope and suspended the carcass upside‑down from a tree.

The gruesome display quickly drew the attention of local wildlife lovers and residents. Angered by the illegal act, a number of activists gathered at the site and maintained a continuous sit‑in protest throughout the night, demanding action against the perpetrators and stricter enforcement of wildlife protection laws.

Local authorities were alerted to the incident, and police teams arrived at the scene to investigate the hunting violation. While no arrests have been reported yet, officials have pledged to identify those responsible and to ensure compliance with the Wildlife Protection Act.

The episode underscores growing tensions in rural Rajasthan over poaching and the preservation of native fauna, as conservation groups call for heightened vigilance and community awareness.
