Former Indian Police Service officer and London School of Economics graduate Deepali Masirkar has been named Executive Director‑Chief Security of business daily Livemint.

Livemint, the leading business news platform, announced today that Deepali Masirkar has been appointed as its Executive Director‑Chief Security. The senior role places her at the helm of the publication’s security strategy across digital, editorial and operational domains.

Masirkar brings a unique blend of law‑enforcement experience and academic credentials. A former Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, she later earned a master’s degree from the London School of Economics. Prior to joining Livemint, she served in senior security capacities at Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), overseeing corporate risk and crisis management.

In her new position, Masirkar will be responsible for safeguarding Livemint’s editorial integrity, protecting its digital assets, and coordinating response to emerging threats such as cyber‑attacks and physical security breaches. Her appointment reflects the growing emphasis on robust security frameworks within Indian media houses.

Industry observers note that her IPS background equips her to navigate the complex regulatory and threat landscape that digital news platforms face today, especially as misinformation and cyber‑espionage become more prevalent.
