In Damoha, a road that has been pending for four decades remains unpaved, forcing children to trek through mud to reach school and patients to be carried on beds to the main road during rains.
In the village of Bori aur Bori Kala near Damoha, a road that was promised for development has remained unfinished for 40 years. During the monsoon, the 3‑to‑4 kilometre stretch turns into a swamp, making it impossible for vehicles to pass.
The muddy path forces students to walk through waterlogged ground to reach their schools. Many children report walking for hours, often carrying their books on their heads, to avoid the flooded route.
Patients in the area face similar hardships. When medical emergencies arise, ambulances cannot reach the village, and residents must transport patients on beds or mattresses to the nearest main road, where they can finally get medical help.
Local officials have acknowledged the problem but have yet to provide a concrete timeline for paving the road. Residents continue to demand action, citing the safety risks and daily inconvenience caused by the neglected infrastructure.
