A contractor from Damoh has been booked for fraud and conspiracy after allegedly using forged experience certificates to secure two public health engineering department tenders in Nivadi, Madhya Pradesh.

The Enforcement Wing (EOW) of the Madhya Pradesh police has filed a fraud and conspiracy case against a contractor based in Damoh. The investigation was launched after a complaint alleged that the contractor submitted fabricated experience certificates to qualify for two tenders issued by the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) in Nivadi.

According to the complaint, the forged documents falsely claimed that the contractor had previously completed projects similar in scope and value, enabling him to meet the eligibility criteria set by the department. The tenders, worth a combined amount that was not disclosed, were awarded despite the lack of genuine experience.

The EOW’s probe confirmed irregularities in the documentation submitted during the tendering process. As a result, the contractor and his firm have been formally charged under sections pertaining to fraud and criminal conspiracy, and further legal action is pending.

Authorities have warned that any entities found to be colluding in tender manipulation will face strict penalties, underscoring the government's commitment to transparency in public procurement.
