Damoh: Assistant Engineer Caught Red-Handed Taking Bribe by Lokayukta

Lokayukta sleuths have apprehended an Assistant Engineer of the electricity department in Damoh's Hata while accepting a bribe of Rs 2,000. The official had allegedly demanded Rs 7,000 to overlook a meter load issue.
In Damoh district's Hata town, an Assistant Engineer from the electricity department was apprehended by the Lokayukta team from Sagar. The official was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 2,000.
The arrest followed a complaint regarding the engineer demanding Rs 7,000. This sum was allegedly demanded to refrain from taking action in a case related to a meter's load. The Lokayukta team conducted the trap operation after verifying the complaint.
A meter reader was also reportedly arrested in connection with the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
