Dalit Families in Sunam Seek Justice, Community Raises Voice

In Sunam, a town in Punjab, community members and activists have publicly demanded justice for two Dalit families facing alleged discrimination. The call for redress reflects broader concerns about caste‑based inequities in the region. Local civil society groups have organized meetings and issued statements urging authorities to investigate the matter promptly. While details of the specific grievances remain limited, the appeal underscores the continued relevance of Dalit rights advocacy in rural Punjab. Authorities have been asked to ensure a fair and transparent process to address the families' concerns.
