A cyclone is expected to make landfall in Tamil Nadu, while widespread rain continues across the state, prompting authorities to issue warnings.

A cyclone is forming in the Bay of Bengal and is projected to make landfall in Tamil Nadu within the next 48 hours. Meteorological Department reports sustained winds of 70–80 km/h and heavy rainfall over coastal districts. Despite the cyclone threat, rainfall has been persistent across the state, with some areas receiving up to 200 mm in 24 hours. The government has issued a cyclone alert and advised residents to stay indoors, secure property, and avoid travel to low-lying regions. Emergency services are on standby to respond to any flooding or storm‑related incidents.
