The Indian Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rain, strong winds, thunder and lightning across several districts in Bihar as Cyclone Arnav approaches, with Patna expected to see significant weather changes.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert for Bihar as Cyclone Arnav moves closer to the eastern plains. The alert, released today, warns of heavy rainfall, strong winds, thunder and lightning across multiple districts for the next four days.

Affected districts include Patna, Nalanda, Gaya, Bhagalpur, and Munger, among others. Residents in these areas are advised to stay indoors and secure loose objects. The IMD has also issued a thunderstorm alert for the region.

In Patna, the capital city, the weather is expected to shift from clear skies to a mix of clouds and rain, with wind speeds potentially reaching 30–40 km/h. The city may experience intermittent showers and occasional thunder.

Authorities urge people to avoid travel during peak hours, keep emergency kits ready, and follow local advisories. The IMD will continue to monitor the cyclone’s path and update the public as necessary.
