Cybercriminals in Ujjain duped two individuals, draining a total of ₹1.72 lakh from a bank account and a credit card after a single click on a fraudulent link.

Ujjain police have registered two separate cyber‑fraud cases after victims reported unauthorized withdrawals following a single click on a deceptive link. In the first incident, a bank account was accessed and ₹41,000 was transferred out almost immediately after the victim clicked the malicious URL.

The second case involved a credit card whose holder saw ₹1.31 lakh siphoned off after the fraudsters lured the user to a counterfeit payment portal. Both incidents were traced back to organized online scammers operating through fake websites that mimic legitimate services.

Authorities are investigating the source of the links and have warned the public to verify URLs before entering any personal or financial details. The police cyber cell has urged anyone receiving suspicious messages to report them promptly to prevent further losses.
