A Central Reserve Police Force member was shot and two houses set ablaze during ethnic clashes between Kuki and Naga communities in Manipur.

Manipur witnessed a fresh outbreak of violence as members of the Kuki and Naga ethnic groups clashed in an unidentified locality of the state. The confrontation quickly escalated, drawing the attention of security forces stationed in the region.

During the melee, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel was hit by gunfire, sustaining injuries that required immediate medical attention. Simultaneously, protestors set fire to two residential houses, causing significant property damage.

State authorities have deployed additional police and paramilitary units to contain the unrest and have appealed to both communities to refrain from further violence. The injured CRPF member was evacuated to a nearby hospital, and investigations into the incident are underway.
