Counting Begins for Rajasthan Municipal Elections 2026 Across 309 Urban Bodies

Counting of votes for the 2026 Rajasthan municipal elections began today across 309 urban bodies covering 10,167 wards. Voter turnout in the two-phase poll stood at 72.95 percent, with special attention on results from ten municipal corporations including Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota and Ajmer.
The State Election Commission announced that counting of votes for the 309 urban local bodies, including municipal corporations, councils and boards, started at 8 a.m. today. A total of 10,167 wards are being counted, with results expected later in the day.
Polling was held in two phases earlier this month, recording an overall voter turnout of 72.95 percent. Officials said the process is being monitored closely to ensure transparency and accuracy.
Special focus is on the ten municipal corporations of Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Ajmer, Bikaner, Udaipur, Bhilwara, Sikar, Alwar and Bharatpur, where political parties are watching the outcome as an indicator of their urban strength ahead of the next state assembly elections.
