Congress Unveils 51 Candidates for Agartala Municipal Corporation Elections

The Indian National Congress released its full list of 51 candidates for the Agartala Municipal Corporation polls on Thursday. The candidates will contest seats across the capital city’s wards, with the party hoping to secure a majority in the 60‑seat corporation. The announcement comes as the municipal elections are scheduled to be held later this year, a key test for Congress in Tripura’s local politics. The party’s strategy focuses on fielding candidates with strong local ties and a record of public service. Analysts say the move could reshape the balance of power in the city’s governance.
