Congress to protest liquor-booking app in Delhi

Delhi – The Indian National Congress has announced its intention to organise a protest against a mobile application that facilitates online booking of alcoholic beverages. The decision, reported by Amar Ujala, signals the party's opposition to digital platforms that enable liquor sales without traditional retail checks. Party officials said the agitation will be staged in Delhi, though a specific date and route have not yet been disclosed. The move comes as the app has gained popularity among consumers seeking convenient access to alcohol, prompting political scrutiny over regulatory oversight. Congress leaders indicated that the demonstration aims to highlight concerns about public health and the need for stricter controls on digital alcohol sales.
