Congress Spokesperson Rajesh Rathod Files Independent Nomination for Tirhut Teacher Seat

The Tirhut teacher constituency in Bihar is witnessing a multi‑cornered electoral battle as several parties and independents vie for the seat. On Saturday, Congress’s chief spokesperson Rajesh Rathod submitted his nomination papers, opting to contest as an independent candidate rather than under the party banner. Rathod’s decision to run without party affiliation underscores the fragmented nature of the contest and reflects internal calculations ahead of the upcoming assembly polls. His entry is expected to split votes that might otherwise consolidate behind established party candidates, potentially reshaping the dynamics in a constituency known for close contests. Election officials have accepted the nomination, and the final list of candidates will be announced shortly, setting the stage for a tightly contested poll in the region.
