Ahead of the Panchayati Raj elections, the Rajasthan Congress in Barmer brought together leaders Amin Khan and Fateh Khan to curb internal factionalism.
Barmer district is gearing up for the upcoming Panchayati Raj elections, and the state Congress unit has intensified efforts to present a united front. Party officials said that internal rivalries have hampered campaign coordination in the past, prompting a renewed push for cohesion.
In a visible show of solidarity, senior leaders Amin Khan and Fateh Khan arrived in Barmer to join local cadres. Their presence is expected to consolidate support among the Shiromani (Shiv) community, a key voter base in the region, and to signal that the party is moving beyond factional disputes.
Congress strategists view the joint appearance as a tactical move to strengthen the party’s electoral prospects before the local body polls. While the BJP is reportedly preparing to announce a new district chief, the Congress focus remains on unifying its ranks and projecting a cohesive agenda to the electorate.
The party has scheduled a series of meetings and outreach programs in the coming weeks, aiming to translate the renewed unity into tangible vote gains when the Panchayati elections are held later this year.
