Congress leaders in Sehore questioned the ongoing excavation of a CC road for a sewage line, alleging waste of public funds despite alternative routes.
Sehore district officials have begun excavating a CC (cement concrete) road to lay a new sewage line connecting the ITC area to the Indore gate. The project, which involves digging up a major thoroughfare, has drawn criticism from local Congress representatives.
District Congress president Rajiv Gujarati publicly accused the authorities of squandering taxpayers' money, pointing out that alternative alignments for the sewage line were available but were not pursued.
Party members demanded a detailed explanation from the district administration, urging them to either halt the excavation or justify the chosen route based on technical and financial considerations.
The district administration, while not issuing a formal statement, has indicated that the selected alignment is essential for efficient drainage and that the work will proceed as planned.
The issue underscores ongoing tensions between the ruling local body and opposition parties over infrastructure projects and fiscal accountability in Madhya Pradesh.
